Position Summary
The University at Buffalo Department of Pediatrics, Division of Behavioral Medicine seeks a Part-Time Research Assistant for help with pilot projects related to motivation for food and screen activities in children and adults. This position is available immediately. Job duties will include:
- Recruiting and running data collection appointments on eating behaviors and activity in 6-14 year old children and adults.
- Manage and analyze quantitative research data.
- Implement research study protocols, use innovative skills in recruiting, screening, scheduling, and assessing research participants.
- Work on research material development and preparation, conducting research participant interviews, administering measures, following research protocols, data collection, coding, and entry and REDCap.
- Prepare and maintain IRB and other protocol related documents under direction of Dr. Katelyn Carr, Assistant Proffessor.
- Complete daily research-related tasks in order to run the lab efficiently and management and training of students.
The ideal candidate is a motivated team-based worker with the ability for independent direction when needed. Accommodating disposition and comfort with fast-paced, ever-changing environment and a large range of contacts. Research with children is generally scheduled for afternoons and evenings during the school year.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in health, statistics, psychology or social science-related field.
- Fundamental knowledge of scientific, medical or other disciplinary terminology and associated mathematical competence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with pediatric populations.
- Current Masters student.
Physical Demands
Salary Range $15 - $20 hourly
