He has a special interest in couples issues and co-occurring mental health and chemical health problems. In the last several years, Dr. Carlson has presented widely, conducting day-long trainings on clinical supervision and supported employment. He also has a strong interest in the history of psychology and works to incorporate the voices and experiences of non-dominant groups into that historical narrative. Outside of psychology, Dr. Carlson-Ghost co-wrote Coming Out, Coming Home, a play which explores the interface of sexuality and spirituality, which has been performed in nearly a dozen states.
