Broadly, my research interests are in the areas of adult and geriatric neuropsychology.
The primary focus of my program of research is on the intersection of health factors/behaviors and cognitive functioning. Specific aims include examining (1) the relationship of health status (e.g., cardiovascular function) and psychosocial factors on cognition, (2) these relationships across age groups, with a focus on middle-age and older adults, and (3) wellness-focused interventions.
My second area of research is on ways to provide support for caregivers of individuals with dementia. Educational and psychosocial support is crucial for this population, yet there are barriers to access. With collaboration from colleagues both within and outside of UMaine, we are examining potential avenues to provide support.
