Dr. Scott is conducting research on cycling practices and politics in Detroit, and undertaking a multiyear mobile ethnography of city cycling in Vancouver. This mobile video ethnography focuses on the role of gender, affect and technique in how and why people actually bike, in the context of diverse urban spaces, and supports a larger investigation into the expansion and public justification of environmentally sustainable mobilities in the Canadian city.
