My primary research area is Motivational Interviewing - its efficacy, practice, training and implementation. Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative conversation for strengthen a person's own motivation for change.
My other areas of research are the psychological impacts of the Canterbury earthquakes; clinical supervision and competency assessment in clinical psychology; and bicultural practice and teaching.
