Expertise: The first seeks to use time-series data on protest events in the U.S. in the period 1960-1980 to better understand the complex relationship between institutionalized politics and social movement activity. The second project uses yearly measures of social organization and local protest activity in 140 Chicago area neighborhoods to assess the relationship between social integration/organization and social movement activity.
