My research interests revolve around criminology and public policy. My favorite field concerns the appropriation and implementation of policies by public bodies. I work in close collaboration with the police services and the various departments responsible for the development of public policies favorable to the health and safety of the population. These collaborations allow me to study the impact of its policies on crime and other indicators of population health, and to identify effective practices. I have set up research teams that are interested, among other things, in the effect of laws and programs aimed at preventing trauma linked to risky driving behavior and firearms. Finally,my expertise has led me to participate in many public debates on the issue of services essential to the maintenance of public safety and health, and to effective practices to prevent crime.
