My current research involves the study of media geography, cartographic design and information display, particularly developing new theories for the geographic engagement of visual information. Geography has long been associated with the visual display of cartographic information but as we transition to the digital and virtual forms of geographic data we must form new ways to understand how we consume and produce our geographies. In addition, I am working with QGIS and Civil AutoCAD and how those can be incorporated into the work of our students. I also have a long-term project on the factors driving the rates of housing price change in the Southern California. I welcome thesis projects and independent studies from any and all students interested in these new and exciting forms of geography.
