Her research interests include human dimensions of environmental change, political ecology, women/gender and development, migration, and Latin America. Dr. Kelly’s dissertation, supported by the National Science Foundation, examined the gendered social and economic drivers of reforestation in El Salvador. Other research and work experience highlights include: environmental research in pesticide applications in Massachusetts cranberry bogs and water conservation efforts in the Susquehanna River Basin, and cultural studies in Latino immigrant experiences in Hazleton, PA and archival work with Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel.
