Her research interests focus on human migration and border studies. For her dissertation, she studied cross-border cooperation along the Polish-German border to better understand the political and cultural integration of European countries within the European Union. The findings from her research in European borderlands have been published in several geography journals. She has had the opportunity to travel as a researcher and/or participant in educational tours to countries in Europe, Middle and South America and Morocco.
