My area of expertise is in the treatment of co-occurring mental and substance use disorders. This interest has evolved into a focus on transdiagnostic treatment approaches. I have developed a cognitive-behavioral transdiagnostic group treatment that addresses unmet needs in community mental health settings -- evidence-based practices that can treat comorbidity in a continous enrollment, group therapy format. This treatment is currently being piloted at the Phoenix VA.
Additional interests include dissimination and implementation research, treatment outcome evaluation, and the effectiveness of behavioral health services in Integrated Health settings. I also provide clinical supervision for an ongoing implementation and dissemination grant studying an adolescent drug abuse prevention program, Optimizing a Drug Abuse Prevention Program for Dissemination.
