Requirements
A Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Penology, Social Work or any equivalent relevant qualification with at least four (4) years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. The candidate must have Criminology as the main course in his/her degree(s) and be able to teach Criminology up to NQF-level 9. The ability to teach courses in the field of Criminal Justice in Policing or Correctional Management, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Human Rights for Criminal Justice, Ethics for Criminal Justice Professionals, Practical Research for Criminal Justice or related courses will be advantageous. A credible record of teaching, research, curriculum and course development, supervision of research projects on an under-graduate level, publication of peer-reviewed articles and community engagement is required.
