OVERVIEW
The University of St. Thomas School of Social Work invites applicants for a full-time tenure track, open ranked faculty position (assistant, associate, or full professor). We seek an applicant with interest and ability to teach courses related to policy, program evaluation, management, and supervision. We are also interested in faculty with licensure (e.g. an LADC) and/or professional experience in areas related to conceptualizing and treating addiction. The position would begin in the fall of 2020.

This is a nine (9)-month faculty position.  Faculty typically teach six courses per year. The successful candidate would teach courses in policy and/or substance-related disorders, and would teach more broadly in our clinically-focused MSW and generalist BSW program. This is primarily a graduate level (MSW program) appointment. Related responsibilities include: professional activities in research, presentation and publication, student advising, and faculty service. The School of Social Work is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

The School of Social Work at the University of St. Thomas offers BSW, MSW and DSW programs. It is a thriving school with approximately 350 students, and is established and respected in the practice community. As one of the anchor schools within the forthcoming College of Health, it offers innovative programs that strive to meet community needs. Minneapolis and St. Paul are well known for cultural and arts communities, and have been consistently named one of the most livable metropolitan areas in the United States.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications

A master’s degree (typically an MSW) from a CSWE-accredited university, and an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or DSW) in social work or a related discipline. ABD candidates will also be considered. Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Minnesota.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates would bring teaching experience (graduate or undergraduate) in areas specific to policy and/or substance use disorders. Preferred applicants would be licensed or license-eligible in Minnesota as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC). The ideal candidate would have the ability to teach courses in both policy and in addiction studies. We are especially interested in applicants who can help graduate students in a clinically focused program make links to community, macro, and policy practice. We seek applicants with experience in areas such as: program development, management, evaluation, supervision, and advanced generalist practice.
