The
Department of Sociology at the State University of New York at Buffalo invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor (official state title: Clinical Assistant Professor) with an appointment to begin August 2023.
This is a full-time, non-tenure-track but renewable term faculty (10 month) appointment, with an emphasis on teaching that will be focused primarily on sociology instruction provided in Singapore for the University at Buffalo undergraduate program in partnership with the Singapore Institute of Management.
The Department seeks a colleague who can teach a range of courses in Sociology at the undergraduate level and contribute to the Department’s track record of excellent instruction. Applicants should have a PhD in Sociology and demonstrate teaching and student mentoring experience in Sociology. Other responsibilities may include teaching general education courses, student advisement, developing and teaching online curricula, participating in on-going curricula development, and representing the Department in recruitment, fundraising, alumni development, and community outreach efforts. The applicant will be expected to teach up to four courses per semester based on programmatic needs.
A competitive salary, health insurance, local accommodation in Singapore, and round-trip fare between the home city and Singapore will be provided each semester. Candidates must be eligible to work both in the United States and Singapore. Employment in this position will be conditional upon receipt of applicable employment authorization for both the United States and Singapore.
